Cambridge University Blues 65 - Coventry 1st Team 80
Without Coach Neb and illness plaguing the bench, CUBbC played its first home game in weeks in front of a small but vocal crowd. Good energy and tempo ensured the game was tight leading into the final quarter.
Despite the home support and the notorious Kelsey Kerridge rims knocking Coventry off their shots the Blues could not buy a basket in the final few minutes of the game, resorting to 1 on 1 play and neglecting the team offence which had brought them success earlier in the match. A tendency to force the plays under pressure ultimately cost them dearly, as the more athletic and experienced Coventry side capitalised.
The players will look to finish the year on a high against Nottingham, in what has become a must-win scenario.
