Blues End Year on a High

Cambridge University Blues 82 - Nottingham 1st Team 74

After a tough first half of the season, the prospect of 3 home games in a row galvanised the Blues to their best performance of the year to date. Despite refereeing calls coming in bunches for both teams, and the absence of most of the undergraduates from the team after term ended, the better quality of the Cambridge Team showed throughout and they were deserving victors.

Playing with a severely sprained thumb, against all advice, Felix Schaaf played an excellent, aggressive game to lay the foundations for next year. For the first time this year Cambridge also got on the fast break, allowing Martin and others to demonstrate their aggression.

However, it was the upturn in rebounding which ultimately won the game, as the Blues kept their athletic opponents off the glass for long periods. This performance is certainly one to build upon.
